The Kursaal building is a notable monument with origins dating back to the years 1827 to 1833. Designed along the lines of Italian Renaissance architecture, it was constructed from white sandstone and features impressive dimensions, including a height of 20 meters, a width of 40 meters, and a length of 60 meters. The structure is accessible via broad open-air stairs on its short sides, leading to an upper level with a surrounding walkway of rounded-arched pillar arcades. Inside, there is a lobby that leads to a central, square, two-story Kursaal, with the main hall known as the King Ludwig I Hall, and an adjoining Lola Montez Hall. The upper floor above the lobby contains the royal lodge, which has large round-arch windows connecting it to the main space. The interior is decorated with Italian Renaissance ornaments, painted by Munich artists Ludwig Höger and Jakob Hochbrand, emphasizing the building’s festive atmosphere. Today, it hosts dance events, galas, balls, concerts, theater performances, and lectures, and its regal ambiance enhances the setting for conferences and weddings.
