The Hermitage Old Palace, located in Bayreuth, was constructed as a center of a courtly retreat by Markgraf Georg Wilhelm in 1715. The site was greatly expanded upon by Markgräfin Wilhelmine, who added features like a music room, a Japanese cabinet, and a Chinese mirror cabinet where she wrote her memoirs.
