The Alte Münze is situated in the historic heart of Zwickau’s main market square. This venue combines 800 years of history with modern renovations, showcasing elements dating back to the 13th century in its structure. Originally a medieval mint, it was first redeveloped as a gastronomic establishment in 1870, known for a time as the „Vereinshalle“ and later as the „Zentralhalle.“ After extensive restoration in the style of the 1920s, the restaurant opened in 2012, and the nearby hotel was completed two years later. Today, the site features a restaurant, lounge, cellar vaults, and an adjoining hotel, making it a distinctive location for events or gatherings in a historic setting.
