The LIGHTHOUSE Essen is a preserved church that has been extensively renovated into a cultural venue for various events. Formerly the Catholic church of St. Mariä Geburt, it was taken over in 2011 by the Evangelisches Freies Sozialwerk Essen e.V. and open to hosting different functions. The venue offers over 300 square meters of space, including a 100 square meter stage and seating arrangements for up to 450 guests, equipped with modern technology. Its interior preserves some historical church elements, which contribute to a unique atmosphere. Modern audio, lighting, and media technology support a wide range of event types, from seminars and conferences to concerts and receptions. The building's floor heating, extensive furniture, and technical facilities make it suitable for various cultural and community activities.
